    Rare Antique Crown Chelsea Pink and Gold Cup and Saucer, Plate Trio

    c. 1880s
    A rare early antique cup and saucer by Crown Chelsea China of England.   Features a white background with alternating pink panels with hand painted exquisite gold design on each panel and on the rim and centre of the cup, saucer and plate.    Cup is tapered with olde English handle.    Saucer is large and deep as it was acceptable during this period to pour the hot tea into the saucer to let it cool before drinking; this was known as a "dish of tea".
    This cup and saucer would be a elegant addition to any collection.
